Punch needle is a traditional craft around since the 1800s, and today while punch needle is a wonderful craft to digitally disconnect, switch off, and relax from a busy and stressful life style it also has many functional applications such as bags, cushions and rugs.
This is the perfect workshop for beginners or those who have tried punch needle and would like a bit more guidance on technique.
You’ll learn:
Tools and Matierals: brief overview of punch needles, fabric, frames and yarn.
Getting started: Preparing fabric, pattern transfer.
How to punch: Threading the needle, how to punch and my top tips and tricks.
Finishing techniques: hemming and whipping.
What’s included:

- High quality punch needle supplies: monks cloth, wool rug yarn for your piece, use of a gripper strip frame and a #10 regular Oxford Punch Needle to use during the workshop.
- Examples of all types of finished work.
- Support from Michelle throughout the workshop.

I am a wild wool punch needle instructor bringing traditional craft into modern life. I am a busy farmer, wife, mother and businesswoman who knows the value of bringing a moment of pause and joy into the everyday. I work with sustainable products and am inspired by nature and the land. I am passionate about sharing the joy of punch needle rug hooking.

Refunds / Cancellations:
Tickets for in person classes and workshops are non-refundable unless a notice of cancellation is emailed to hello@wildwoolway.com 72 hours before your class. We would appreciate as much notice as possible so we can try and fill your spot. Cancellations within 72hrs are eligible for a refund in the form of a gift certificate to be used towards a future class. Our workshops require a minimum number of participants to run, we will notify you 48hrs is advance of the workshop if enrolment does not reach this number. If we have to cancel you will be notified asap and a full refund will be offered or transfer your place to a different workshop of the same value.
Online classes:
Punch needle class online is perfect when you’re getting started with Punch Needle, don’t know what products to get, overloaded with info from the Internet and don’t know what is right or wrong, I have all you need here!!
A one to one 30 minute zoom consultation with an experienced Certified Oxford Instructor will get you on the right path. If you have already bought punch needle products and they are not working quite the way you planned, no problem let’s troubleshoot those punch needle problems.
